In order to receive donations and best serve the community, Second Harvest collects names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, credit card information, and IP Addresses. Second Harvest Food Bank will never sell, rent, exchange, share, or in any other way provide correspondent or donor information to other entities, except as is required to accomplish the food bank’s functions. We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.
This policy applies to all information received by Second Harvest, both online and offline, on any Platform (“Platform”, includes the Second Harvest Food Bank website and mobile applications), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
Vendors that have temporary access to correspondent and donor information are expressly forbidden to copy, use or transfer any information provided by Second Harvest for any reason to any source.
To the extent any donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation, and is expressly forbidden to be copied or transferred to another source.
Second Harvest does not request or store sensitive information from our visitors, such as credit cards or social security numbers. We may store non-personally identifiable demographic data to facilitate correspondence, and contact information if the user opts in on receiving future communications.
It is our desire to ensure complete security while transferring potentially sensitive and private information from your web browser to the Second Harvest computer system. All data in the off-site facility is located on equipment in a dedicated IT area that can be locked and isolated. A next-generation firewall is in place to ensure protection from threats on the internet and 24/7 network monitoring is in play to assure no systems are breached.

Credit Card Information
Second Harvest has contracted the services of a banking partner to process credit card donations submitted online. Our banking partner’s secured server encrypts your credit card information so that it may be safely transmitted over the web. Your credit card information will not be released to any other party by Second Harvest Food Bank.
