LifeStream & Second Harvest Food Bank Partner to Offer Senior Food Distributions

LifeStream Services and Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana have expanded their Senior Safety Net food distributions to offer new locations in Muncie and Anderson. The Senior Safety Net food distributions provide easy access locations for seniors to receive nutritious foods.

The Senior Safety Net food distributions are now offered at the following locations.

  • Delaware County:
    • Fourth Thursday of the month beginning June 25 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, or until supplies last, at Forest Park Senior Center located at 2517 W. 8th Muncie, IN 47302.
    • Third Thursday of the month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, or until supplies last, at Daleville Town Hall located at 8019 S. Walnut St. Daleville, IN 47334.
  • Madison County:
    • Fourth Monday of the month beginning June 22 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm, or until supplies last, at Wesley Free Methodist Church located at 3017 W. 8th Anderson, IN 46011.
  • Jay County:
    • First Tuesday of the month at 11:30am to 12:30pm, or until supplies last, at Asbury United Methodist Church located at 204 E. Arch St. Portland, IN 47371.

LifeStream’s Nutrition Program is dedicated to helping seniors in East Central Indiana have access to food and nutrition information that they need to live a healthy life. The Senior Safety Net food distribution is in need of active volunteers to help manage the distribution of items on distribution days. Those interested in volunteering should contact Laura Bray, Volunteer Services Administrator by email or  at 765-759-3372.
