Second Harvest Food Bank Announces New President & CEO

The Board of Directors of Second Harvest Food Bank is pleased to announce that Rebekah “Bekah” Clawson will be the next President & CEO beginning in October. Current President & CEO Tim Kean will transition with Clawson and retire at the end of the year.

Clawson has been serving as the Executive Director at HOPE in Lancaster, Inc. in Lancaster, South Carolina, for the past seven years providing food and assistance that support individuals and families in crisis situations. Prior to her current role, she worked as a Development & Fundraising Professional, Program Manager, Case Manager, and served in multiple roles in church ministry.

Jack Basler, Chairman of the Board of Directors, shared that “After an extensive search we are happy to have found an experienced person to serve Second Harvest for the future.  Bekah comes to us with a well-rounded background in serving the community and I look forward to her leadership.”

Bekah is married to Michael Clawson and has three grown children and three grandchildren. “I am thrilled to be relocating to Muncie, Indiana to be the CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana,” said Clawson. “The agency has a great reputation and under the leadership of Tim Kean has served the area effectively and expertly. I hope to bring my experience and unique perspective to the position working with the staff and partner agencies to help further the mission of feeding the hungry while also addressing the causes of food insecurity and empowering people toward self-sufficiency.”
