Doctor King’s work as liberator of the economically disenfranchised is less well remembered than his work in equal voting rights and other pushes for racial equality, but no less important to his legacy. We will be open for volunteers on MLK day, and there is a lot of work to be done that will help people in poverty. If you have the day off anyway, consider honoring Doctor King’s legacy by coming in for the afternoon. Here at Second Harvest there is no shortage of ways to help your community. By coming out to Second Harvest and you can help families create a solid foundation from which they can build a better tomorrow for themselves.
